Terry Powell’s life has been dedicated to the development and advancement of the entrepreneur and those who desire to become one. As the name depicts, The Entrepreneur's Source (TES) was founded in 1984 as a business coaching firm providing support and guidance to aspiring business owners. Terry determined early on that an overwhelming 75% of the population had a strong desire to be self-sufficient, but barely 5% acted on it. Terry focused on the remaining 70% and, through a journey of discovery, helped his clients identify their desired lifestyle, goals and needs. Terry’s company then introduced them to business concepts that would help them to reach these defined goals, needs and expectations.
Terry franchised The Entrepreneur’s Source concept in 1998. Today, TES is a global Business Coaching and advisory firm with over 230 franchisees assisting people find self-sufficiency through business ownership. In recent years, TES coaches have placed 1000’s of people in businesses and franchises representing over $400 million in client investment dollars.
Terry’s unique vision of providing a “one source resource’ for all things entrepreneurial came to fruition with the acquisition of Business Advisers International (now AdviCoach) in 2005. It was a natural fit, for now his companies could not only help individuals achieve their dream of business ownership, but also provide coaching and advisory services to new and established business owners, helping them to increase their bottom line and maximize their return on investment.
He is a forerunner in the coaching and consulting world with his focus on training and continuing education. TES and AdviCoach coaches are taught in a state-of-the-art training facility and use virtual classroom training technology on a regular basis.
Terry also created FranchiseSearch.com and FranchiseMatch, now the Google of the franchise world that is fast becoming the Internet’s leading resource for franchise and business opportunities.
As a seasoned veteran in the franchising community, as of 2006, Terry has positioned TES and AdviCoach to hold approximately 33% of the market share in the business consulting industry. Terry's belief in helping people reach their dream of independence and self-sufficiency permeates through his entire organization -- The Performance Enhancement Team. Terry has developed a team of over 20 TES and AdviCoach Regional Developers dedicated to growing the TES and AdviCoach business concepts globally.
Today, The Entrepreneur’s Source and AdviCoach are consistently ranked as one of the fastest growing franchises by numerous industry publications.
In 2007, as a means of expediting growth of existing brands and providing world-class franchise resources for new brand introductions, Terry launched FranchisEsource Brands International (FSBI), a multi-brand franchisor principally engaged in growing solid concepts into major international franchise brands.
Terry’s 2007 acquisition of Business Partner Marketing Coach strongly underscores the direction Terry Powell is taking FranchisEsource Brands International with an aggressive vision to grow the number of franchise brands every 18 months to 2 years.
In early 2008, Michael Gerber, New York Times bestselling author on the E-Myth series of books focused on entrepreneurial success, reached out to Terry Powell to form a strategic partnership to educate, impact and transform franchises and small business worldwide with co-branded products and services.
Today with its 24 year history, Terry is considered the founder of the Business Coaching profession and an expert in franchising and business coaching. He is frequently called upon as a resource and quoted in newspapers, magazines and business journals across North America.
Terry is a Board Member on the International Franchise Association’s (IFA) Diversity Institute promoting diversity and inclusion in the franchise community. He also sponsors annually “The Entrepreneur of the Year Award” for the IFA. Terry earned his ICFE, International Certified Franchise Executive Certification, from the IFA, in November of 2004.
